American Anthropological Association and the Canadian Anthropology Society Annual Meeting 2023




The Reel Borders team members Silvia Almenara presented her work on “Mediating Emotions in Migration Research” at the 2023 Annual Meeting of the American Anthropological Association and Canadian Anthropology Society. On this session coordinated by Jacqueline Wagner (Washington University in St. Louis,Department of Anthropology) a group of researchers discussed about the role of technology in migration research. Silvia's presentation was based on the use of technology in the ethnographic encounter with special emphasis on cinema as an anthropological device to evoke emotions.
