BIRMM Research day. Reflexivity and audiovisual data collection and dissemination with migrants: Self-representational participatory filmmaking at the Moroccan-Spanish border .




On January 13, 2022, Irene Gutiérrez presented some preliminary ideas from her recent fieldwork in Ceuta at the BIRMM Research Day at the VUB. In her paper, Irene explores the role of reflexivity in co-producing and disseminating knowledge with border women in Participatory Filmmaking as she unpacks the potential of this methodology for creating empathetic cinematic encounters.
