Reel Borders studies how borders are imagined through film

Reel Borders researcher and filmmaker Irene Gutiérrez took part in the recent edition of Mindblowers, an event organized by KVS (Royal Flemish Theatre) and VUB. During the event, scientists and artists explore and exchange on important societal questions. This year's edition focused on the boundaries of space and place and included, among others, performances and talks by astronaut Frank De Winne, human rights activist Lorent Saleh and performer Andie Dushime. Irene Gutiérrez presented a short film with vernacular border footage, exploring the meaning of space and place through cinema. To watch the short film click here.
