Reel Borders studies how borders are imagined through film


Lennart Soberon co-authored a new article with Gertjan Willems (University of Antwerp & Ghent University) in New Review of Film and Television Studies. The article looks at border crossings in contemporary Flemish cinema, in relation to national stereotypes and othering. While not focusing on one of the Reel Borders border regions, it does draw on conceptual and interpretative lenses of the project. The article is part of a special issue titled “Transnational Horror Media Now”. More information here, and an archived preprint version here.
