24 October 2024
On 24 October, the European Research Council, announced the six winners of the Public Engagement with Research Award. The award is “given to ERC grantees who have successfully engaged audiences outside their domain in the design, conduct, or dissemination of research, helping to bridge the gap between science and society.” While Reel Borders did not win, our project was selected among 99 candidates from all disciplines as a finalist, which is a great recognition for our efforts to develop collaborative and creative approaches on border research, and an encouragement to keep investing in public engagement. Thank you to all our participants who took part in filmmaking, sharing their stories and experiences! And of course, congratulations to the winners for their inspiring projects!
