Kevin Smets presented at the annual conference of the Society for Cinema & Media Studies (SCMS) in Chicago, 3-6 April. In a panel on contested national memories and cinema, he presented work in progress on filmmaking in Rojava (Northern Syria), a part of the Turkish-Syrian border research.
