Reel Borders studies how borders are imagined through film

March  13,  2023

Scéal Eile: Irish Film Festival (March 21st-25th 2023)

The Reel Borders team is proud to have contributed to the next edition of Scéal Eile: The Belgian-Irish Film Festival. From 21 till 25 March Scéal Eile will offer a wide selection of both old and new Irish film titles in Brussels, Ghent, and Antwerp. Reel Borders curated the thematic program Lines of Light: a retrospective of films that tackle the Irish border.

Wednesday 22, 17:45 will see us take part in a panelconversation on the contemporary cinema landscape in Northern Ireland. On Saturday 25, 14:30, the program will also feature the result of our participatory video workshops in Derry. These Reel Borders Shorts are free to attend and will be accompanied by a Q&A with the participant filmmakers. Check out the full program through www.bestofIrishfilm.be, or get a programme brocuhe at one of the cinemas we're partnering with.
