Reel Borders studies how borders are imagined through film

Participatory Filmmaking in Adana





Reel Borders team member Irene Gutiérrez launched the Participatory Filmmaking Workshop in Adana with the collaboration of the Özgür Sinematek at the Çukurova Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi. During five weeks, 25 film and communication Turkish students will create short documentary films and fiction about issues of everyday bordering and racism towards Syrian displaced people living in Adana after 2014, exacerbated by the language barriers that separate the communities.
