Reel Borders studies how borders are imagined
through film
New article in Social & Cultural Geography
Reel Borders team member Silvia Almenara-Niebla has published a new article in the journal Social & Cultural Geography. This paper examines the intimate experiences of activists who have resisted migration containment policies in both cities. The article addresses methodological challenges in the investigation of social emotions, using methods of sensory elicitation in ethnographic research. Film, with its evocative power, acts as a sensory stimulus that awakens the intimate narratives of activists, offering a unique window into their experiences and perspectives. The full article can be found here. Silvia wants to thank all participants in the study, as well as the reviewers and editors for their insightful comments.
